NEAT THINGS: LASER ENGRAVED ROLLING PINS

As I was searching for a gift for a baker friend of mine, I came the most ingenous item....Engraved Rolling Pins!  These Laser Rolling Pins by ValekRollingPins will definitely take your baking to the next level.
Valek Rolling Pins is the brain child of ZuziaKozerka from Warsaw, Poland. Made from solid beech and treated with oil, they come in a variety of patterns from  cute animals and mustaches to chevron and my favorite, a Folk pattern. The best thing is that they offer a personalized option, so add someones name and give a great personalized gift!

NEAT THINGS: CHEESE PENCILS

The Deli Garage's Cheese Pencils are shaped like over-sized pencils but the “lead”is replaced with different flavors ( truffles, pesto and chili) . Designed by Korefe, these pencils also include a built-in grating function as well as a scale that lists how many calories the portion contains.

These pencils are not the only item they offer. The Deli Garage specializes in hand-made delicatessen food labels in lovingly designed packaging.

Neat Things: Stamp Yo Face

Have you ever wanted to immortalize your face on a stamp? Try Stamp Yo Face from the talented team of Hannah (the artist) and Kevin (the muscle).

Each stamp design is hand-drawn and digitized from a photo that you send in once you purchase the stamp (at $65). In addition, they are are also sending you an original hand-drawn portrait  as well as a black ink pad with your purchase.

You might be thinking where you can use a stamp of your face, but there are a few places.
I like the idea of adding it to the reciept ( like in the pic below) for your customers or you can put it on a blank business card and write your info in ( or type it in and just stamp as needed).

NEAT THINGS: Signature Pillows

If you are going to have alot of people in and out of your bed, you better get some consent. These $39 "Sign Here" pillowcases from Urban Outfitters offer that option. Now I wouldn't suggest that you have anyone sign this pillow , but they are fun. On a side note,  can you imagine if you saw this on someones bed signed? lol

NEAT THINGS: STRANGE FRUIT

Though I am fortunate enough to have access to huge variety of produce where I live, occasionally I come across something that makes me go "What the hell is that?"....then I go look it up on my phone, lol.

Most markets are now starting to offer other fruit besides the standard apples and oranges, but the reality is that it is really only a small selection compared to what the world offers. Whole Foods and Fairway often showcase "Strange Fruit". For those of you who have a green thumb, there are alot of places that offer seeds, so that you may grow your own .

seedsshop ( seeds for purchase from L to R): Purple Dragon Fruit Cactus, White Dragon Fruit Cactus, Watermelon Radish, Mexican Sour Melon, Purple Cauliflower, Bolivian Rainbow Chili, White Alpine Strawberry, Rainbow Carrots , Ornamental Cucmbers

Smartseeds (seeds for purchase from L to R): Reisetomate Heirloom Tomato, Red Long Bean

L to R: Salak, UGLI ( yes that's the name of them), Aguaymanto or Peruvian Cherries

L to R: Gac Fruit, Mammee , Sugar Apples ( my favorite)

What are some other "Strange Fruit"?

If you had the money, how many of you would spend it on this package without a second thought?

NEAT THINGS: EDIBLE SPOON

A disposable plastic spoon will take more than 20 years to decompose. This edible spoon is environment friendly. It is made from corn flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, eggs, separated milk, spices and herb. It is 100% biodegradable and 100% edible.
Now I will say that I dont know how long it will take to get "soggy" ........but  how long does it really take someone to eat  a bowl of soup?

Neat Things: All-In-One Breakfast

I don't know if this is ingenious or ridiculous, but either way, you have to see the Retro Series 3-in-1 Breakfast Station by Nostalgia Electrics. This little station includes a Toaster Oven, Griddle, 4-Cup Coffee Maker and 15 minute timer. Though it is suppose to be used in your kitchen, I have visions of some college kid plugging this up next to his bed , about to burn their dorm down.
Just when you think they broke the mold this this one, take a look at their other appliances.......something tells me I may end up buying something, lol

This Hot Dog Toaster is probably a poor college kids dream, lol

Neat Things: Luggage for Hard-to-Fit Places

If you are one of the many that covet the " Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk " then you will love Williams British Handmade. This company creates original designed handmade storage and luggage items for those "irregular" spaces...Yes, they are real, functional suitcases!
All of the items are bespoke or limited edition and according to their site, each brass frame design is handmade by a metal worker and every stitch is done by hand using traditional saddle stitching. They even take custom request.

Though I cannot imagine taking one of these when I travel ( I am envisioning, ladies with gloves , hat and an air of aristocracy, lol), this is what I call a "functional piece of art"......and worth every pretty penny it is going to cost ! I do wonder if the airline will charge you extra since its and odd shape?

Neat Things:Handjob Hooks

This just might be the best Home Goods design of the year! These Handjob Hooks by Therlermont Hupton come in familiar gestures, including thumbs up, wave, handshake, OK, point, peace and rock....but I personally like the "up yours" version. Can you guess which one that is?
Though this is technically a "functional" home item, to hang your bag or coat on, I think they double beautifully as wall art...and based on the $145 USD price tag, so do they.Blogger-Signature
