WE ARE ON VACATION!

We are taking a much needed Vacation!
It has been a long time coming and the time is finally now.! We will be back on September 15th, bright eyed and bushy tailed with new blog content and post as well as new totally inappropriate designs.
While we are away, catch up on some of our popular posts or take a gander at our new company website that we have be whoring out lately and hopefully I will see ya in 2 weeks ...that is if I dont cause an international incident with my rampant inappropriatness ;)

GRAMKIN PHOTO UPDATE

Sorry for the lateness in new post, but we are in the process of updating our product photos as well as our brand.I didn't realize how much time it would and is taking. For some reason I thought it would take only a few days, but it looks like it could take much longer. We are feeling a little overwhelmed, but taking everything one day at a time.













The first thing we are doing in our mighty list is retaking photos...just didnt know how much product we had till we had to go thru it. Take a look below, the top ones are the originals and the ones below are the new ones....I think they look better, what do you think?

COME SEE US AT "CRAFTS IN CHELSEA" -OCT 16TH

Come Join us for the 3rd Annual Crafts in Chelsea – October 16th 2010 from 10am – 5pm on 21st street between 8th and 9th avenue in Manhattan. RAIN OR SHINE
We will be unveiling new products as well as some special "fair only deals"!

This event spotlights over 100 of the best local New York artists and craftspeople vending their own unique jewelry, pottery, clothing, fine art and other handmade goods. Visitors to the fair will enjoy the opportunity to converse with artists about their creative processes while shopping for one of a kind items.

This event is run in conjunction with PS 11's annual FALL FESTIVAL – an indoor event that includes food, arts and crafts, bouncy castles, games and a petting zoo for New York City children. Last year this event drew record crowds and helped to fund arts programs for the students of PS 11.and will occur rain or shine.
There will be tons of craft vendors and unique "one of a kind" items all in one place.

CUPCAKE IN A JAR: A TUTORIAL

When I came across this item, I almost started to weep uncontrollably...thats because its Cupcakes in a Jar!. This little ditty is from the lovelies over at Cakies with a red velvet cupcake taking center stage.
Adapted from a Paula Dean recipe, Cakies tweaked the recipe for their own use:

{CAKIES RED VELVET CUPCAKES}
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- *2 1/4 tsp cocoa powder
- *1 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp white distilled vinegar
- *2 tsp vanilla extract for the cream cheese frosting:
- 1 pound cream cheese, softened
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- *2 tsps vanilla extract
- 4 cups sifted powdered sugar

You can really make any kind of cupcakes you would like, its just the red and white colors of the red velvet and frosting are a nice contrast. But, I can really see this with Carrot Cake Cupcake and sour cream frosting or Chocolate Cupcake with Buttercream frosting....just any cupcake that has a nice color contrast between the cupcake and frosting.
