With more people going green and limiting there use of plastic bags, this soft Tote Bag tutorial from Martha Stewart is a great little afternoon project. This tutorial is so simple to make that you can make multiples of them in different colors for shopping, groceries or anything else that you need to use it for.

1. Print the full-size template. Cut out template, and trace onto heavyweight felt ( 2-millimeter-thick material from is pictured; 1/2 yard of fabric is enough for 1 bag) with a fabric pen, and cut out; repeat to make a second cutout. Stack pieces.

2. Using a sewing machine, stitch around the sides and bottom of bag, leaving 1/4-inch seam allowance. Then stitch top of each handle.
